IP Addresses

An IP address is the unique numerical address that is assigned to each servers that is joined together in a network such as the internet. these unique address are what enables each server to locate and communicate with all other servers in the network.

A hostname name, such as www.memset.com gets translated into an IP address such as 80.175.39.196 which can then be used to route a connection through the Internet. All servers need at least one IP address, however, some server configurations such as SSL hosting and DNS hosting need more than one.

Memset Miniservers™ and fully dedicated servers all come with dedicated, static, public IP addresses. In order to comply with the RIPE guidelines on IP address allocation we only give each server one address initially. Should your server require more than one IP address please contact Sales@Memset.com discuss your requirement and to request more IP addresses. Additional addresses are chargeable.
