Nick Craig-Wood, CEO
Nick co-founded Memset with his sister Kate in a room above a garage in Guildford in 2002. As CEO, he now leads a team of 50 at our Head Office in Dunsfold where we fully manage and operate our own data centre. Previously at Memset he has held the role of Technical Director where he was responsible for ensuring we deliver a robust and innovative portfolio of products for our customers, an area he is still very involved with and passionate about.
Prior to founding Memset in 2002, he had 14 years of experience in the IT industry including founding, running and scaling other IT start ups. Memset was created to commercialise the nascent virtual server market. Nick created the initial version of the Cloud VPS technology while Kate created the public facing website.
Outside of work Nick writes Open Source software for relaxation, solves puzzles and enjoys taking his children and dogs for walks in the Surrey Hills.
Annalisa O'Rourke, Chief Operations Officer
Annalisa joined Memset in 2016 as Head of Compliance and is now our Chief Operations Officer. She is committed to and focused on customer service at Memset ensuring a secure framework and infrastructure through continual improvements to operations; regular maintenance and implementation of robust operations and service enhancements.
With 15 years’ experience within the IT industry, she understands the complex issues that customers face and is particularly keen to assist customers to demystify complex legal and compliance requirements. Annalisa is keen to work with customers to improve awareness of their risks and requirements and is always open to hearing feedback from customers.
Within the industry, Annalisa is a keen promoter of gender-balanced leadership and is a member of the Professional Women’s Network. Outside of work, Annalisa is regularly found at the gym or in the boxing ring.
Chris Burden, Chief Commercial Officer
Chris joined Memset in 2017 as Director of Sales and Marketing and is now our Cheif Commercial Officer. He is committed to delivering a suite of services and solutions that match the requirements of our customers as competitively as possible. Therefore, he works closely with his team to ensure they are focused on customers to understand the challenges and the opportunities that they face while delivering an excellent customer experience.
Prior to joining he had 20 years’ experience as Senior Director, with a successful track record in all aspects of business. Throughout his career, he has delivered sustainable and profitable businesses with experience in both the public and private sectors.
Outside of work he enjoys outdoor life and as a Northerner he is regularly found walking the Yorkshire Dales with his family, that is when he isn’t jetting off with his family to more exotic locations.
Alex Coke-Smyth, Head of Operations
Alex and his team are responsible for ensuring the operational running and maintenance of Memset’s infrastructure. The team are focused on ensuring a 99.99% uptime across our infrastructure at both our Dunsfold and Reading data centres.
Alex was employee number one at Memset joining in 2003, prior to this accolade he was a highly experienced Senior System Administrator. Through his time at Memset he has been actively involved with project managing data centre moves as well as the design and maintenance of our hosting infrastructure platform.
Alex is a keen BBQer and organises a weekly BBQ for everyone at Memset, but likes to stay fit with regular squash games and speedily skiing down mountains.
Stewart Perrygrove, Head of Development
An experienced Developer specialising in Python, Stewart and his team manage and provide high quality software to service the requirements of the business and our customers. They are key to innovative product and feature development at Memset, and the team are consistently bringing new ideas to the table to better improve the tools across the business.
Stewart joined Memset in 2012 with experience in web development and software engineering, following his graduation from Lancaster University where he acquired his MSc in Networking & Internet Systems.
When not in the Dev Box at the Memset office Stewart can be found either on the squash court, tidying up his children's toys or reading up on various technical topics.
Tom Baxter, Head of Service
Tom and his teams are responsible for service delivery and technical support for our customers. They are the internal advocates for all of our customers ensuring that they are easily able to manage their Memset infrastructure and gain access to support.
He joined Memset in 2006 as a highly skilled Systems Administrator, after which he quickly climbed the ranks to Head of Support because of his passion for excellent customer service. He is keen to work with customers to ensure we provide the support and customer care they require and is always happy to hear any feedback.
In his spare time when not busy with his family he is a keen cyclist and can answer just about any question you might have on the best bike for you.
Thomas Owen, Head of Security
Thomas and his team work to ensure that both our security posture and corporate IT services are innovative, cost-effective and fit to support our internal and external customer needs. They are also heavily invested in our security partner programme and the development of customer-facing security services.
Thomas joined Memset in 2014 with a wealth of experience following a security-focussed career with cloud hosting providers and big consultancies. He is an advocate for a transparent and educational approach in Security that works with the culture of the business. Thomas continues to strive to enable security best practises and to provide the tools that our customers require.
In his spare time, Thomas is a medic and Emergency Planning Officer for Surrey Search and Rescue.
