MobileLocate, leading UK provider of mobile phone tracking services, has moved the hosting of its web-based business to Memset. The company was attracted to the exceptionally high levels of security offered by Memset. "The tailored solution that Memset is providing us, far exceeds anything else on the market,", says Jon Magnusson, managing director of MobileLocate.
First launched three years ago, MobileLocate enables firms such as couriers, service engineers and taxis to trace the location of their field workforce by tracking their mobile phone via the internet. They can then optimise the use of their mobile work force; others use it to promote the safety of loan workers.
MobileLocate was unsatisfied with the level of service provided by its previous web-hosting supplier and undertook a yearlong review of the market before selecting Memset. The new hosting package is based on a mid-range Sun server, xFire 2100. "Memset has an excellent range of server options so we were able to choose the right package to meet our needs,"says Magnusson. "Maximum uptime and high security are of paramount importance to us. Memset has engineers on standby at all times and so is able to respond within an hour should any problems develop. The company's concern for the environment was also important to us."
The MobileLocate's sister company, ChildLocate has also switched to Memset. ChildLocate provides a similar service, but for parents wanting to keep track of their offspring. It enables parent to establish the location of a child.s mobile phone via the internet.
