With the supplier base expected to rise to about 500 when framework agreements for G-Cloud II are handed out on 26 October, award-winning cloud provider, Memset, will be the only UK hosting company currently holding IL2 Pan Government Accreditation (PGA) in the CloudStore.

Memset believes the accreditation will enhance their listing in the CloudStore where IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and other cloud services can be provisioned in as little as six minutes.

The UK Government G-Cloud programme has a "public cloud first policy", and Memset currently delivers IL2 via the public cloud, showing that private infrastructure is not always necessary for secure hosting.

Memset, whose IL2 services come at no additional charge, have also bolstered their offering in the second iteration of the G-Cloud programme with Miniservers now available on an hourly basis and Miniservers with SSD disks, enabling customers to entirely cluster their database on a virtual machine, both front and back-ends, enhancing performance, resilience and speed for disk read and write.

Kate Craig-Wood, MD of Memset said: “Memset have been an early member of the G-Cloud Cloudstore and we’re encouraged by the transactions that have already taken place.”

“With a surge in supplier numbers, the accreditation will be more important than ever as we try to stand out from the crowd, with our more flexible and agile solutions for the public sector,” concluded Craig-Wood.

Memset have already secured new business from the G-Cloud, namely Estyn and The Department for Work & Pensions, with trials currently underway with a number of other new public sector clients.
